Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and Softgrid ("the app", "we") about using the Softgrid app. By using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
What Softgrid Is
Softgrid lets you draw on a small shared canvas with friends or a partner, in a room of up to 4 people, and see those drawings on your home screen and lock screen widgets. Drawings are shown for one hour after they are sent.
Who Can Use It
You must be at least 13 years old to use Softgrid. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need permission from a parent or guardian.
Rooms and Room Codes
There are no accounts. You choose a nickname and a colour, and you create or join a room with a room code. Anyone who has a room's code can join it and see what is shared there, so share your code only with people you trust. You are responsible for who you give it to.
Your Drawings
Your drawings and nickname belong to you. You give us permission to store them and show them to the other people in your room, in the app and on their widgets, for as long as needed to run the app. That permission ends when the content is removed from our systems.
Being Kind
Softgrid is meant to be a calm place. We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You agree not to use the app to:
- harass, threaten, bully or impersonate anyone;
- send content that is sexually explicit, hateful, violent or illegal;
- send anything that sexualises or endangers children;
- share someone else's private information without their consent;
- break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
- interfere with the app, try to access rooms or data that are not yours, or use it through automated means.
Reporting and Removal
If a person or a drawing concerns you, you can leave the room at any time from the profile screen, and you can report it to us at hello@softgrid.work with the room code and nickname. We review reports and may remove content, close rooms or block access for anyone who breaks these terms, without notice.
Privacy
Our privacy policy explains what we collect and how it is used. It forms part of these terms.
The App Itself
We own the Softgrid app, name and design. We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store's usage rules. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell it.
Changes and Availability
We may change, pause or stop the app or any part of it at any time. Drawings are temporary by design, and we do not promise to keep or back up any content.
No Warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about it, including that it will be uninterrupted, error free or that drawings will always be delivered or shown on a widget.
Limit of Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for content sent by other people in your room. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
Ending These Terms
You can stop using Softgrid at any time by leaving your room and deleting the app. We may end or suspend your access if you break these terms.
Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and is not responsible for any claims relating to it, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims. If the app fails to conform to a warranty that applies, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not in a country under a US government embargo and are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, without affecting any consumer protections that apply where you live.
Changes to These Terms
If we change these terms, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
